It’s Summer. So that means hot weather, more free time and more time to spend on gaming in general. Not many games come out during the Summer so that means Summer is the best time to work on your video game backlog or to buy some older games that might be on sale. Here are five games you should consider playing this Summer.
Overwatch still has a very active community with lots of people playing online every day. Overwatch just added a new hero named Wrecking Ball so you can bet a lot of people are coming back to this game to try him out. Overwatch is a good game to play this summer because it will keep you busy every day with lots of different modes to play and lot’s of challenges to do.
Overwatch, in general, is a fun, chaotic game and is a nice game to play during the hot summer day especially with friends or with people from the PlayStation Communities or social media in general. If you’re looking for a fun multiplayer game to play this Summer, then I recommend you give Overwatch a look.
4. Sonic Mania
Sonic Mania came out last Summer and set the world on fire. It was a fantastic platformer, and it really reminded us of the good old days when Sonic was as good as other competing platformers. The game isn’t filled with content. There are thirteen zones in this game so you could finish this game in two hours or so if you decide to rush it.
That being said, if you’re looking for a short, fun and exciting summer game to play this year that can be a little bit difficult but rewarding then definitely check out Sonic Mania. The game also has Co-op so you can play with friends as well. It’s a fun game for the family
3. Splatoon 2
Splatoon 2 came out last summer and sold a significant amount of copies. The community is still going strong today. Splatoon 2 is only available on the Nintendo Switch so you’ll need to buy a Nintendo Switch to play this game. The game is still very pricey today, so if you want to jump in, then you’ll need to shell out a bit of money.
Having said that this game is an entertaining game and is by far the best multiplayer game on the Nintendo Switch right now. If you’re thinking about getting Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then I recommend you get Splatoon instead as it’s much more fun and chaotic in my opinion.
It will be hard to play with friends online because of Nintendo’s bizarre microphone policies but if you don’t care about playing with a microphone then jump in.
2. Monster Hunter World
Monster Hunter World will require some dedication and this game might eat up your entire summer. But if you’re ready to dedicate time and effort into this game and if you’re prepared to understand the mechanics and the somewhat confusing but rewarding gameplay then I definitely think you should give this game a go.
I gave up on this one a while ago after 300 hours because I got burnt out. The game can get frustrating and grindy after a while, but if you’re used to grinding in games, then I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy Monster Hunter World.
You’re able to play with friends online in a team of four and fighting Monsters online can be a whole lot of fun.
Fortnite. The game that captured the entire world. The game everyone is playing.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I persoanlly think Fortnite is the best game to play this Summer. The game is so refreshing, and it’s easy to jump back in whenever. Fortnite is free, it’s fun, and it’s a blast to play with friends and Epic are constantly updating this game with lots of new content. Fortnite is always fresh, it’s always fun, and it’s the perfect game to sit back, relax and play this Summer.
