Nioh Review

Nioh (PS4)
Release Date: February 7th, 2017
Platform – PS4

Nioh is an extremely exciting game and I’ve had great fun with this game. I’ve enjoyed every second of it and yes this game does have its fair share of problems, but overall it’s a great game and it deserves to be played by Dark Souls and Bloodborne fans. That being said Nioh is not a walk in the park. It’s not an easy game like Mario. This game can be truly unforgiving and it can be very tough in fact this game can be too challenging. It’s not as hard as Bloodborne in my opinion, but it’s definitely tougher than Dark Souls 3. But if you enjoyed Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 and you’re up for a fun, challenging but rewarding game then definitely pick this game up.

Nioh is a great game, but the visuals aren’t. The graphics are very dated for a PS4 game in my opinion. Graphics aren’t everything but they could have made this game look prettier. Level design also could have been improved. Don’t go into Nioh expecting high-class graphics like Uncharted 4. I also thought the story was very mediocre. The story is set in Japan. Again, don’t go into Nioh expecting an excellent story. If you’re a beginner and if you’re not used to games like these then this game might be extremely challenging and unfair.

The camera was decent, but it could have been better it was very messy at times. The controls in Nioh are great and the character is very responsive. The story in this game might be bland but the setting is excellent in my opinion. Boss fights were fantastic. The boss’es are beautifully designed in my opinion, most of them had very creative designs. There is also a lot of replay value in this game so it’s well worth the money.

The main reason why I like this game so much is because of the combat system and gameplay. The combat system is magnificent and the gameplay is unforgivingly fun. This is a very fast paced game. There was never any dull moments gameplay wise when I was playing this game. Gameplay wise this is one of the best games this year. To be honest, if the story was good this game would have been a classic. To tell you the truth this game was a bit too challenging for me but I still had great fun playing it and if you’re looking for a good challenge and a game to keep you on your toes then get Nioh. You will not be disappointed. It’s a great game and it’s a solid exclusive.
